In Avicennian cosmology the whole of creation has been formed on the basis of a rigorous and consistent system of cause and effect in which each creature has its specific and determinate place. The world of nature as the lowest stage of existence is under the control of celestial souls and celestial souls themselves are under the dominance of pure intelligences and finally they are related to the Necessary Being. In such a system prayers and invocations are means for union and connection of human souls with the worlds beyond (celestial souls and pure intelligences) in order to aquire benefits and repel losses. Human souls have found the power for union and connection with pure intelligences through the transcenence of self and evolution of the faculties of speculative and practical reason and therefore the power to influence celestial souls brings about the genesis of pleasant phenomena and removing the unpleasant events in material world. The quality of harmony and correspodance of prayer and invocation with the rational principles and rules govering the causal system of the world is the main problem of our analysis and examination of this article.

Loving all creatures or belief in the inflow of love in all creation and stations of existence can be seen in both the ideas of Ibn Sina and Suhravardi. Shaykh al-Rais offers two definitions of love that in one only the perfection, is taken into account. According to the first definition no creature is outside the scope of loving – kindness, although most creatures are not aware of their love. This love consists of two kinds natural and volitional love. Loving – kindness in the second difinition in allocated to the sentient beings. This love because of having different levels of perecption and its inclusion of sensual, imaginative, illusionary and rational perception has different levels. Ibn Sina has called the noblest level of volitional love which is based on rational perception the voluntary or intellectual love and considers the lowest level of love as animal love. Shaykh regards the love without the intervention rational faculty as sin and desease. Shaykh Ishraq is faithful to Ibn Sina’s definitions and believes in two all-embrazing natural and voluntary love and with a symbolic language has depicted the rational love. He has spoken of love as darkness and regards such a love as equal to wretchedness.

Quiddity has two well-known definitions: “what makes a thing to be what it is” “or being and “what is said in answer to what is it?” Or the concept of a whole thing. Mulla Sadra is the first philosopher who has specified the meaning and purport of each. This view is compatible with the principality and unity of being as the most important foundation of Sadrian system and even an acompanying element of it. At the same time given these two principle have not been the subject of discussion by the philosophers before Sadra and in particular Ibn Sina even if these two afore-mentioned meaning can be deduced from some passages of Shykh because of the foundamental differences of Avicennian and Sadrian systems the relation of them is not the same in these two philosophical systems. In Ibn Sina’s philosophy quiddity is nothing except what a thing is by what it is which is definitely the same truth and essence of a thing and distinct from being. If what makes a thing by what it is or the quiddity of a thing is unknown the answer to it is by what it is and answer or the same as what is answered in answer to what it is, is a concept which it denotes completely in contrast to what is found in Mulla Sadra’s philosophy have a relation of significant and signifcation and in a way it can be said that are to degrees or stations of one thing. With this interpretation other commentaries which Sadra and his followers from transcendental have is not infered from some passages of shykh.

Causality in Peripatetic Philosophy from Aristotle to Ibn Sina, allocated a decisive and central role to itself, and not only the existence of external objects but any account of and their explanation without taking into account the principle of causality and causal relationship was impossible in intellectual and philosophical schools in Islamic and western world found a different fate, at times was proved and as a philosophical principle was accepted in the philosophical systems, and then went to the border dispute.Aristotle first made a philosophical analysis of causality in the form of four causes and Ibn Sina explained this theory on the basis of the distinction between existence and nature in Islamic philosophy. Whereas Muslim philosophers and western rationalist philosophers did not oppose this principle, in principle, Muslim and Christian theologians and some Muslim philosophers as well as empiricist and positivist philosophers looked at the principle of causality and its correlatives in a different way, sometimes they rejected this principle, sometimes while accepted it did not accept its consequences or reduced it to something like a mathematical rule, which has no actuality in the external world.

Although Ghazzali in his Tahafut al- falasifeh has strongly criticised peripatetic philosophers but in both the two theories that he has offered about the resurrection of the body is under the influence of Ibn Sina’s science of soul. In his Tahafut al- falasifeh, he introduces the theory of a new body as a possibility for the resurrection of the body which is based on being, immateriality and immortality of soul as well as acceptance of soul as a standard for the identity of character which are all peripatetic theories. His other theory is the theory of stimolation that for theologians has been a customary view and Ghazzali has introduced it in his al-Iqtisad fi-itiqad. Also in this theory we are witnessing points of difference between Ghazzali and theologians and the influence of Peripatetic philosophy on him. While for early Asharite theologians believing in stimulation, immaterial soul has no place, Ghazzali has offered the theory of stimulation in such a way that it has no contradiction with the immateriality of stimulation. On the other hand, although like most of the early theologians he considers life after death as a kind of accident but in the analysis of this accident he is not in agreement with them and like peripatetics he interprets these two as the relation and interruption of the soul and body. The influence of Peripatetic philosophy on him in the subject of punishment of grave is also evident.Reviewing the books and treatises such as Maarij al-Qods, al-Maznun behi ala ghir Ahlehi, Kimiyayi Saadat and Ihya Ulum Al-Din also reveals the influence of Peripatetic philosophy on him in the problem of resurrection from the topics of knowledge of self.

Ibn Sina in the chapters of eight and ninth of his Al-Isharat wa Tanbihat has propounded some problems and offers the characterictics and components of this subject. After suggesting a comprehensive definition of mystical education, Shaydh al-Rais has tried to explain the foundations, principles and methods of it. From his point of view, the true pleasures are quantitively and qualitively preferable to sensual ones. In addition, perception by presence to rational pleasures gives rise to their desire and perception. For Ibn Sina, perception and attainment to perfections depends on both theoretical and practical faculties. On the other hand, human souls in their enjoyment of happiness are in different degrees. Rational pleasures of the mystic are in the two world of permanence and transience. These cases can be considered as the foundations of Ibn Sina’s mystical education. In the educational system of Shaykh principles like gradual steps in mystical education, attention to the existential capacity of the educated person, accompaniment of rationality and mysticism, moderation of the faculties, sociability and methods like self-knowledge, purification of self, doing religious obligations and self-refinement has been offered.

Determination of the characteristics of mysticism on the basis of the life of innocent leaders indicates the purity of genuine mysticism of some common and well-known methods in this field. From this point of view the mystic seeks to know, contemplate and union with the Divine. In addition to theoritical aspects which make up the requirments of mystical journey in the endeavour of prayers, purification of soul and helping people as a token of pious acts is a mystic path that is known as gaining experience and mystical journey in the sphere of action. In case the diversity of Ibn Sina’s proceupation and concerns of mystical studies in taken into account, his sayings on this object is viewed with careful attention, and the model of genuine mysticism of innocent leaders is chosen as an indicator, a considerable proportion of important characteristics of genuine mysticism is evident in the behaviour and works of Ibn Sin.
