Muslims have commonly accepted the inability of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) to read and write. Based on the literal meaning of the Arabic word ommi and according to the verse 48 in Sura al-Ankabut, most scholars have historically believed and still believe that the holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) was unable to read and write during his prophetic mission. Of course, they support their theory citing some narrations too. Relying on his own method which focuses on the context and historical-cultural conditions of the revelation of the verses, Muhammad Abed al-Jaberi, the Moroccan reformist, proves that the holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) was able to read and write during the prophetic mission. The context-based interpretation of the verse 48 in Sura al-Ankabut and the fact that it is the last sura revealed in Mecca and, therefore, it should be interpreted and understood in the light of the conditions for the Prophet’s (p.b.u.h.) preparation to migrate to Yathrib (Medina), where the atmosphere and conditions were completely different from Mecca, as well as the interpretation of Sura al-Ankabut based on the historical conditions of its revelation will lead to al-Jaberi’s theory. Citing two major narrations from ibn-Eshaq and Bukhari on how Gabriel began to reveal the Quran to the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and referring to the Prophet’s (p.b.u.h.) saying “What should I read?”, al-Jaberi concludes that since the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) had said “What should I read?” and not “I don’t read” or “I cannot read”, the dominant theory of the illiteracy of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) is unfounded. al-Jaberi's another approach in proving his theory is the terminological analysis of the term ommi. The authors believe that the reasoning of most interpreters does not convince one to accept illiteracy of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and his inability to read and write before the beginning of the revelation. This claim is strengthened when it is seen that, in their interpretations of the various verses in which the words ommi and ommiyun have been used, they have referred to the people to whom no Book has been sent from God and mentioned nothing to reject it. On the other hand, Jaberi's argument falsifies the dominant theory on the meaning of the term ommi, but it does not definitively demonstrate the ability of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) to read and write before the prophetic mission.

Inquiries into the worldview of Shiite hyperbolists, though most of them have disappeared, can be useful and functional in some ways. This is what the present article deals with. Contrary to the famous history of the wilayat, i.e. its attribution to Sufism or Hakim Termezi himself, the present article roughly resolves some of the ambiguities related to the teachings of Sufism and the sophistications of some Orientalists in the field of Sufism by presenting its framework and roots among Shiite hyperbolists. In the personal, allegorical interpretations of hyperbolists, the Shariah (the sacred law) had the two layers of the interior and the exterior, and the origin of this duality was the god who had one immortal or heavenly aspect and five mortal or worldly aspects. And he was the heir to the heavenly God who was the protector of the interior of the Shariah. Every one of these aspects was transmitted to the silent and speaking prophets. As a result, the heavenly gods or the supreme earthly gods were transmitted from one body to another or were reincarnated. Later in Sufism, the heir to the heavenly or supreme god was moderately changed to owliya (guardians). And even the term wali (guardian) was defined as baqa’ bellah (subsistence through God) or rabb (the Lord). From the perspective of hyperbolists, this wali, who had surpassed the exterior of the Shariah, which was for the public, was indeed God Himself and was not imagined to have any obligation and to be worried about the Heaven or Hell and even the apparent death.

An investigation into the interpretations of the Quran reveals that the understanding and interpretation of some former interpreters on some Quranic verses are somewhat different from those of contemporary interpreters. This issue leads to these questions: Why do basically such controversies and view changes occur about understanding and interpreting some Quranic verses? And how can such occurrences be scientifically explained and explicated? In response to these questions, Quranic scholars have often spoken of epistemological factors and have less been concerned with non-epistemological factors. One of the most influential non-epistemological factors in the transformation of the opinions of the interpreters is the concept of discourse in linguistics. In this study, the transformation taken place in the interpretation of some Quranic verses in the contemporary period in comparison with that of former periods has been investigated using the concept of discourse. The obtained results reveal that formation of new discourses in the contemporary period has transformed the understanding and interpretation of contemporary interpreters.

The prophecy of the prophets is a natural and inherent necessity for man as the heavenly books are never instrumental by themselves. God has sent the prophets to explain the truth and guide the people towards righteousness, so that the truth is clarified to everyone. The prophecy of the prophets denotes the beginning of the fight against any kind of polytheism, superstition and ideological and practical deviation. Relying on the viewpoints of the Quran, Nahj al-Balaghah and the resources on the history of Islam, the present article seeks to investigate the prophetic mission of the holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and its effective approach towards guiding the people of the Arabian Peninsula and changing their cultural status and demonstrate how the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) managed to influence the people whose culture was typically associated with injustice, ethnic and racial show-off, slavery, entombing girls alive, looting, breaking down agreements, murder and eating carrion and who had apparently deviated from the path of the truth .

In the discipline of law, legal practices refer to a group of phenomena in which the produced effects depend upon the willpower of their producers. Legal practices can be divided into two categories: contracts and unilateral acts. Contracts refer to those practices fulfilled by the willpower of at least two individuals, and unilateral acts are those fulfilled by the willpower of one individual. Contrary to the viewpoints of the predecessors, the new views expressed by scholars of law and Islamic jurisprudence have created the assumption that legal acts are entirely governed by willpower, and only the issues prohibited by the Shariah limit the willpower. In this article, we seek to investigate whether there is evidence in the Quran and sunnah on the basis of which to advocate for the rule of will, and declare the theory which apparently originated from the West and has a non-Islamic origin legitimate or to accept the theory that the rule of will is not accepted in Islamic sources and raising this issue is devoid of religious basis. Finally, we will come up with the conclusion that the rule of will is derived from the religious proofs, and the Quranic verses and narrations that approve of this claim will also be interpreted and explicated.

The process of training requires perseverance on the part of both the trainer and the trainee, and the story of Joseph (a.s.) is a desirable model for training in the era of civilization and pre-civilization as well as in kinship systems and social systems. The present article seeks to explore how nervousness was eradicated from a primitive, prophetic family in Canaan, and the civilized social systems of the ancient Egypt in the era of the Hyksos were led towards Divine Unity owing to the perseverance of the two Israeli prophets.
The research method is descriptive-analytic which focuses on the holy Quran, holy hadiths and lexicons. Following a lexical analysis of the key words of the article, an attempt has been made to explain their relationship with man’s life and the nature of Joseph (a.s.) and Jacob’s (a.s.) perseverance from ideological, ethical and behavioral perspectives. The results of this research work reveal that prophecy, religious obligation, training and development are strongly related to perseverance, and perseverance is the basis of fulfilling the Divine covenant and moving through the straight path of devotion; hence, in the Hyksos Kingdom, a process instigated from Canaan through which a primitive, prophetic family and the Amalekite Kingdom of Hyksos, both from Semitic origin and settled in the civilized, pagan Egypt, were trained on the basis of Divine Unity and they paved the way for the emergence of the Children of Israel through economic, social and political reforms during the seven-year famine.
