Information and communications technology (ICT) has affected the developmentof healthcare services. Although, operation of many applications in the fields of diagnosis, treatment, and education, is now dependent on ICT, this technology has facedseveral challenges that have prevented its full integration into the healthcare system. This is due not only to the inherent complexity of the medical science and technology, but also to the lack of appropriate infrastructure. Therefore, an integrative healthcaremodel should be considered that implements the development of national health informatics, strategies, and infrastructure as a whole. Two main applications of ICT includeelectronic health record and electronic health (e-health). E-health or telehealthincludes telemedicine and telecare.
