Created from soil and God’s spirit, named God’s vicegerent and God’s choice, Adam (a) was the first human on earth and God’s first messenger. After being expelled from heaven when he was deceived by Satan, Adam (a) went on to live for approximately a thousand years. His grave today is in Najaf, next to Prophet Noah (a) and Amir al-Mu’minin (a).
Adam (a) was God’s successor on earth and a ray of God’s traits. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam narrate similar stories about him. The Qur’an has mentioned him 25 times, and discussed him in detail in six chapters. Interpretations and narrations by the infallible Imams have also mentioned Adam (a).
This article explains the philosophy through which the Father of Humanity (a) and his wife, Eve, were created, and studies their position with God and the angels, verses and narrations on fables of Adam (a), and the status of this prophet in the Qur’an, other divine books, and narrations of the Ahl ul-Bayt (s).

The School of Imam Husayn (a) is the absolute reflection of the genuine Islam of Mohammad (s), and one of its human-training teachings rises one’s spiritual status to a point where they see nothing but God. This school, which roots in the divine revelation, is excitement next to intellect, and the most eternal poem of history. Each one of its students are a complete role model for all of history, similar to the teacher of this school.
Those who have been trained in this school, were religious jihadists and veterans who sacrificed their life on the path towards God, and practically demonstrated spirituality and dissolving into God. They first succeeded in the Major Jihad and then stepped into the Minor Jihad, only to come out victorious. They traded the world and whatsoever in it for the sake of their true friend, and they truly profited. They scarified everything and reached their destination.
This article introduces the Spiritual School of Imam Husayn (a) and elucidates its spiritual thoughts. It also introduces the factors which have given stability to this school and finally, through the story of Muslim b. ‘Aqil who was trained in this school, shows the practical method to understand this school to those who are passionate towards the Ahl ul-Bayt (a).

The offspring of God’s messenger (s) were respected and revered by Muslims from the beginning of Islam. In the Qur’an, God has stressed on friendship, kindness, and respect towards them and describes this as the Prophet’s (s) remuneration for his mission.
The offspring of God’s messenger (s), who the Prophet (s) himself always insisted on kindness towards them, emigrated to far places to defend and disseminate Islam, sometimes even being martyred on this path. Their tombs and mausoleums, which can be found throughout Europe, Africa, all the way to India and China is proof for this fact. These tombs have always been respected and revered by Muslims all over the Islamic lands and are remnants of the culture and history of the Islamic civilization. However, in addition to destroying their tombs and stations, hypocrites and corrupt figures attempt to weaken the belief of Muslims in these offspring of the Prophet (s).
This article attempts to elucidate the position the offspring of the Prophet (s) and the position the tombs of these nobilities have amongst the Muslims, and explain the importance and status of their tombs in Islamic lands from various dimensions.

One of the great Shia scholars of our time who struggled for Islamic unity was Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Karim Imam Zanjani, for which he went on missions to various countries and delivered lectures. On his mission, he also became friends with the president of Al-Azhar University, Muhammad Mustafa al-Maraghi. One of Ayatollah Zanjani’s most important activities for Islamic unity was his speech in the Congress of Islamic Scholars and Western Scholars in Damascus, which resulted in the historical resolution to recognize Twelver Shi’itism as one of the legitimate Islamic sects by Sunni scholars of the four sects.
Founding the Majlis A’lay Islami, with the companionship of Sheikh Mustafa Maraghi was another one of his achievements for Islamic unity. These two Muslim scholars believed that practical unity in jurisprudence among the Islamic nation creates the grounds for true Islamic unity.
Ayatollah Zanjani also sent letters to the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait which was welcomed by them. However, ill-thinking and grudge by jealous narrow-minded people flooded him with accusations by the public, which resulted in his isolation.
As well as introducing this great Shi’a scholar, this article reveals some of his activities on his path to Islamic unity.

Sa’sa’a bin Sohan was one of the students and true followers of Amir Al-Mu’minin (a) and famous amongst the public and elites for his powerful speeches and repartee. Sa’sa’a was a child during the Era of the first caliph, but was considered a brave and wise youth during the era of the second and third caliphs. During the rule of ‘Uthman, Sa’sa’a was one of the nobles of Kufah who was exiled to Levant because of his strong oration power in stimulating the people against the caliph.
Sa’sa’a had a major role during Imam Ali’s (a) caliphate and was present in all his battles. Imam called him Khatib Shahshah because of his skills in delivering speeches, and he was the representative to discussions with the Khawarij during the Battle of Nahrawan. Many of the Imam’s letters have been written by this man’s powerful writing skills. In his discussions with Mu’awiyah, Sa’sa’a revealed his enmity with him numerous times.
Sa’sa’a was a reliable man but few narrations have been quoted by him. His knowledge on Mahdism and the End of Time was more than Amir al-Mu`minin’s (a) other students. It is believed he was one of the architectures of Kufah, and one of the people who took part in the covert burying of Imam Ali (a).
This article introduces Sa’sa’a bin Sohan and his family tree, and explains his role during Imam Ali’s (a) time.

The city of Karbala has a bilateral relation with Islamic culture, each effecting the other. The formation of this city first started when Imam Husayn (a) was buried there and his admirers settled around his grave. The population of the city slowly started to rise. The city bears in itself both Iraqi and Islamic architecture, some made with local material, some with material imported from other places.
The first building in Karbala was set up two days after the event of Ashura, on the 12th Muharram 61. Thereafter, various kinds of structures were built through different historical eras, specially during the Jalairid, Safavid, and modern era.
The structures in Karbala can be categorized into two groups; Religious and Cultural structures, such as two holy shrines, cemeteries, stations, mosques, hosayniyyas, and schools, and Historical and Ancient Structures, such as Bazaars and marketplaces, caravanserais, public baths, ancient houses, and castles.
This article explains the characteristics of the architecture of Karbala, and quotes some of the pub by the tourists of Karbala.

The majority of Muslims believe that Khizr (a) is one of God’s saints, and after drinking the water of eternity, gained eternal life. Although the Qur’an hasn’t explicitly mentioned Khizr (a), but Shi’a sources of narration have introduced him as one of God’s prophets, although there is disagreement about his name and ancestors. He is called Khizr (a) because beneath him vegetates wherever he sits or prays.
Muslims believe that Khizr (a) is the representative on land, and Ilyas is the representative on water, and both live an eternal life. The fact that Khizr (a) has an eternal life is the reason why many pilgrimage places in the Islamic land have been identified as the station of Khizr. Iraq, is one of the Islamic countries which has 150 known sites as the station of Khizr, some of which are placed in holy Shi’a places such as the Mosque of Kufah and al-Sahlah Mosque. Some of these stations are shared with Ilyas and are called Khizr Ilyas.
This article briefly introduces Khizr (a), his position in Shi’a belief, and his eternal life, and also introduces some of the places which are the station of Khizr the Prophet (a) in Iraq for its readers.

Mosul’s special geographic position, being on the path of important trade routes, the arable soil of Mesopotamia, and the abundance of oil wells have added to the importance of this city. Mosul is also the capital of Nineveh province in Iraq and the history of its name is debated, however the city was mostly inhabited by Shi’a’s before Saddam’s project to make it a Sunni city.
The founding of Mosul, Iraq’s third biggest metropolis and the capital of the Iraqi oil wells goes back to the Pishdadian Era, where it was the capital of the Ashur government. Many historians, geographers, and explorers have written their experience of visiting this city.
Mosul was the Romans’ only way to infiltrate Iraq and Levant, hence Muslims focused on liberating this city and Amir al-Mu’minin (a) installed experienced and powerful governors in this city during his caliphate. Because of its strategic position, Mosul has seen many conflicts between various powers, and has thus experienced many ups and downs throughout its history.
This article provides valuable information on the religious, strategic, geographical, historical, social, economic, and culture of Mosul to its reader and also brings the itineraries of historians, explorers, and geographers of this city.

From the beginning, all divine religions have recommended visiting the graves and have considered it connecting with the soul of the demised. Islam too, highly recommends visiting the graves of religious elites. In the four Sunni sects and all Shi’a subsects, pilgrimage has a valuable position and has its own special rituals, culture, and decorum. The Shi’a have a special belief and affection for pilgrimage of the Shrine of the Noble Prophet (s) and Infallible Imams (a), specially Imam Husayn (a), and have many narrations on the virtues of such pilgrimage.
The Wahhabi sect is the only sect that not only bans visiting the graves, but considers it polytheism, even the Shrine of the Noble Prophet (s). Most Shi’a and Sunni scholars however, stress on the neutrality and recommendation of visiting the graves of religious elites.
This article gives a summarized report on the academic assembly on jurisprudential study of pilgrimage in Islamic sects, where two great teachers of the seminary, Mr. Najm ul-Din Moravveji Tabasi and Mohammad Amin Pouramini lectured in the A`imiye Athar Jurisprudential Center in the holy city of Qom.

Itineraries hold within themselves valuable information that cannot be found in history books, on the politics, economics, society, culture, and traditions of a region. Itineraries are valuable because they see the events through the eyes of a stranger whom all kinds of tribal prejudices and inclinations are absent. Similar to the rest of the world, a portion of the Iranian literature is formed by itineraries, in which itineraries on holy sites, specifically the holy shrines in Iraq, have the largest share.
Composing itineraries on the Holy Shrines in Iraq began in the Qajar era by authorities, businessmen, scholars, and some unknown persons. In the previous decade, since travel to these places have increased, such itinerary compositions have also reached their pike.
This article starts by explaining the importance of writing itineraries, specially those on pilgrimage, and their role in transferring the culture and traditions of one community to another, and from one generation to the next. It continues by introducing some of the first figures who wrote itineraries on the Holy Shrines of Iraq, and ends by indexing bibliographical information on the 106 itineraries that have been written in the previous two centuries.
