 | Investigating the Impact of local and Satellite TV Consumption Patterns on Social Trust among citizens (Text in Persian) Saeed Noori , Hoda Haj zadeh , Masuome Shenava Pages 8-31
Abstract Full Text [PDF 416KB] | | The aim of this paper is to find out the impact of using social networks on the transformation of students’ national identity. The research method of this article is survey and the data was collected using questionnaires. The population of the study was 366 students of Payam Noor University studying in the 20-14 academic year. In order to analyze the data and test the hypotheses، regression and Pearson correlation coefficient have been used. The results showed that the variables of the use of the internet، the time to join virtual networks، and the user’s involvement in virtual networks are reversely associated with the national identity of the students. Thus، it can be said that the use of virtual networks is effective in reducing the national identity of students.

 | The impact of the national cultural festival of the Persian Gulf on the cultural development of Hormozgan province (Case study: Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Hormozgan Province) (Text in Persian) Nasrollah Sharifi *, Soosan Alaey Pages 32-49
Abstract Full Text [PDF 298KB] | | The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of the national cultural festival of the Persian Gulf on cultural development of Hormozgan province by descriptive-analytic method. The survey community comprised all of the experts and managers of the Directorate General of Islamic Culture and Guidance in 1396، using a Morgan table and simple random sampling، a sample of 80 were sampled. A researcher-made questionnaire was developed in two sections: demographic variables and research fields in the dimensions of cultural heritage، sports، tourism، environment، visual arts and music. The formal and content validity of the research tool was confirmed by the professors. The reliability of the tool was estimated to be 0.86 through the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The average rating of dimensions showed that the development of music culture was 3.8 with the highest and Environmental developmentwith 3.15 with the lowest average.

Abstract Full Text [PDF 389KB] | | In this study، the effect of domestic and satellite TV on social trust has been investigated. The research method is survey and a questionnaire was used to collect the required data. The statistical population of the study consisted of people aged 18 years and older who resided in Bandar Abbas during the research period. The sample size is 384 people using the Cochran formula and a multi-stage cluster sampling method. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics and spss statistical software. Findings of the research indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between the amount of domestic TV viewing and trust، but the amount of satellite television viewing with social trust has an inverse relationship. The average total social trust in women is higher than that of men، but the difference is not statistically significant. Among the dimensions of the variable of social trust، the relationship between age and the relationship between personal trust is positive and significant، but in other dimensions، there is no meaningful relationship between trust and age. Also، institutional and social trust has a negative and significant relationship with income. The results of studying the direct and indirect effects of independent variables on dependent variables show that the direct and indirect effects of independent variables are most affected by the order of watching television and domestic television.

 | An introduction to Itineraries of The Foreign Telegrapher (Text in Persian) Mandana Sayehbani Pages 76-87
Abstract Full Text [PDF 271KB] | | Itineraries as a media is the personal efforts and curiosities of the writer، who brings these experiences to his own culture. Since itineraries are written without any obligation، they are out of the writer’s passion and observations only. Therefor there are vigilant and full of details and clues. In comparison with history books that are written by the order of the monarchs، itineraries are more realistic and more acceptable. This applies to the “Itineraries of the Anonymous Telegrapher” as well. Thus this text which has been neglected to this day contains a unique statistic and reports of the cities and roads in Iran in the mid Ghajar era، in order to locate the telegraph lines from Tehran to Bushehr. This study utilizes descriptive analysis method for the text and its related subjects and The results prove that the spread and use of Telegraph –which has been for the economic benefit of the colonial United Kingdom- has become an important tool for communication and enlightenment of the masses at the final stage of the Ghajar dynasty which led to the Iranian Constitutional Revolution.

 | Gendered Language in SuzaniSamarqandi’s Poem (Text in Persian) Fateme Ghalandar zadeh daryaey Pages 88-100
Abstract | | The manifestation of gender inequality can be studied in different areas. Social linguistics is an interdisciplinary field that looks at language as a cultural and social phenomenon. In this regard، the difference speech between men and women in society and the use of the special vocabulary of these two genders and in general the gender of the language is studied . In this article، we will examine the gendered language in SuzaniSamarqandi’s poetry through the method of analyzing the quality of content and in terms of social linguistics. The results of the research indicate that the gendered vocabulary are used with frequency in Samarqandi’s poetry. The words that the gender dimension of women is evident into them، and most of these words have become as intrigues by men. The poet uses vocabularies for men، which does not equate for women in Farsi language and combining excellence with a gender perspective and creating a language which come froms a man-centered community and culture. It should be noted that the male-dominated poetry of the poet’s language reflect her gendered language and، consequently، the poet’s gender community.

Abstract Full Text [PDF 298KB] | | Today، the name of the Persian Gulf has been distorted by Some Arabic countries and other opportunists. In addition to the geopolitical and geo-strategic importance of the Persian Gulf، this area holds a high position in Iranian history and historical events. The Persian Gulf has a pivotal role in the consistency of Iranian national identity. Falsification of the name of the Persian Gulf is considered as serious threat to the Iranian identity and national security. The purpose of this study was to investigate the views and interpretations of people about changing the name of Persian Gulf in the virtual world. The research method was qualitative. The Data and information for analyzing were gathered from comments in the Alef، Afkar news، Tabnak and Aftab web pages within four years between 2010 to 2013. The results showed 14 codes and 5 main categories that national identity and security crisis was considered as their core. They included domestic political factors، cultural factors، international factors، awareness and no-reaction. So، our people interpreted changing the name of the Persian Gulf as a security and national identity crisis and have been looking for its causes and solutions.

Abstract Full Text [PDF 318KB] | | One of the most serious topics threatening human life at the beginning of the third millennium is environmental issues. Environmental problems are produced mainly as a result of human behavior. Thus، knowledge، attitude and practical intentions of people on environmental issues and how to deal with them، require considerable attention in considering of environmental behaviors. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social (knowledge، attitude and practical environmental intentions) and grounded variables (age، education، gender، marital status) with environmental behaviors of Bandar Abbas residents. The survey method was used in the present study. The study sample consisted of 200 individuals aged 16-69 in Bandar Abbas city who were randomly selected through cluster sampling. Findings from the present study demonstrated a significant relationship between social and environmental variables and environmental behaviors. In addition، the environmental issue in Bandar Abbas which is among most social classes an important social concern has not yet entered the public domain and is limited to the elite of the community. Therefore، environmental behaviors in this city will be practiced with proper training.
