The hierarchical hub location problem with different kind of vehicle aims to find the number of different needed hub and their location in several levels and also the vehicle and their path in order to minimize total cost of installing and transportations. In this paper, the hierarchical hub location problem considering capacity and verity of vehicles is studied. This condition leads the problem to real world and so the results can be useful for researchers and industrial managements. At first the problem is defined and then its parameters and variables are illustrated. After that a new mathematical model is developed for these new condition. This is a mixed integer problem and in order to be solved, the GAMS problem is used. Some standard problem that are illustrated in one of the references is used to evaluate and analysis the results.

A multi-agent scheduling problem in a flow shop environment has been considered in this study. Multi-agent scheduling problem is a subset of multi-objective scheduling problems in which each agent has a set of jobs and its aim is to optimize its own objective function. To make the proposed problem more realistic, two practical assumptions such as deteriorating jobs and rejection has been considered. A mixed integer programming model is presented for the problem. The main contribution of the proposed model is to consider multi-agent with two mentioned assumptions. Also, due to the complexity of the model and its inability to solve large-scale problems, a meta-heuristic Non-Dominated sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) are developed. Obtained solutions of this algorithm are compared with exact augmented ε-constraint method and the results confirm its performance.

Multi-robot systems are preferable for tasks that are inherently distributed in space, time, or functionality. For the problems that can be decomposed into independent subproblems, using a multi-robot system offers a potential for reducing the overall task completion time. For effective employment of multi robot systems, it is necessary to properly implement Task Allocation, which is an NP-hard problem. In this paper, a two-layer architecture for exploring and covering an unknown environment by multiple heterogeneous robots is developed. At the first layer of the architecture, the Multi-SRT algorithm is developed for exploration and covering of the environment and the Multi-Tangent-Bug is used for online path planning and obstacle avoidance in a distributed manner. In the second layer, by means of a centralized approach, a Fast Genetic Algorithm (FGA) is proposed for solving the multi-robot task allocation problem. Performing each task enhances the utility of the system, and completing all tasks is the ultimate goal of the system. For evaluating the efficiency of the FGA, a number of scenarios were run and the results were compared to NSGA-II algorithm. Simulation results showed the reliability of the developed architecture at the first layer and the precision and quality of the task allocation at the second layer.

In the most of reliable location problems, the main objective is to minimize the total cost of establishment and shipping a single level network, taking into account a strategy to strengthen the reliability of the network. Therefore, in this paper more objective facts are considered; a model for designing a three-echelon supply chain network, taking into account reliable strategies across multiple distribution centers is presented. In this model, both reliable and unreliable distribution centers are considered. The strategy is in a way that if an unreliable distribution centers established in a candidate location, it should be fortified by the limited budget for unreliable distribution centers in critical situations or a reliable distribution center should be set as the backup to respond the customers in the case of failure. On the other hand, if a reliable distribution center were established in a candidate location, this center would be a backup itself. Considering the computational complexity of the problem and the presented model, a genetic algorithm is used. After setting the Taguchi design of experiments, the solutions in small, medium and large sizes were compared with results obtained from GAMS optimization software. The results show the percentage of algorithm gap, in all problems solved, is less than 3 percentage. This shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

One of the most popular problems in quality improvement of multistage manufacturing processes is the variation of quality characteristics. Stream of variation methodology models variation propagation of dimensional deviation that comes from key quality characteristics. This research describes new procedure for source of variation identification in variation propagation modeling. At the firs, discriminant function used to separate variations and then future deviations assign to model but detected source may not be real source. In order to find real source, stream of variation testing is used. The applicability and performance of source of variation identification investigate with an illustrative case study in connecting rod production line.

Supplier selection is one of the most important issues in supply chain management. Recent models in supplier selection are based on total supply chain cost point of view to adjust with growing competition among supply chains.
The joint decision making of procurement lot-size, supplier selection, production decisions and shipment policy selection has potential to reduce total supply chain costs. In this paper, a single-buyer multi-suppliers model in a two level supply chain is presented and a cooperative game theory model is proposed to analyse the decisions. In this regard, the selected suppliers and total supply chain costs are found. We assumed that the selected suppliers’ setup time interval is integer multipliers of the replenishment cycle time of the buyer and also suppliers are able to outsource their remaining capacities. It is shown that the cooperative model could result in a stable solution with same total supply chain cost as the centralized model and also, when suppliers have equal opportunity costs for each single production capacity, selected suppliers are determined independent from the opportunity cost but when the suppliers have different opportunity costs, the selected suppliers are influenced by the opportunity cost that they have. A numerical example describes the findings.

The most studies carried out in the logistics have had the same attitude towards inventory control components such as the optimal order quantity, order frequency and the amount of safety stock of inventory storage centers. For instance, they consider the number of inventory orders for all inventory storage centers as the same during the whole period of planning while according to customers of each distribution center, it may vary. In addition, we may determine the safety stock from different scenarios in each center. The present study offers a new model for location-routing-inventory under uncertainty with regard to environmental considerations. This model simultaneously determines the number and location of distribution centers, allocation of retailers to distribution centers and active routes and the order of visiting the retailers in each route, optimal order quantities, and optimal number of ordering times for each distribution center as well as the level of safety stock for each distribution center. Another aim of the study is minimizing the annual expected cost and the amount of carbon emissions from transport fleet during the delivery process in the entire network.
Since the proposed model is NP-hard problem, we recommend meta-heuristic approaches to obtain optimal solutions. Therefore, Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA- II), multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) and strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm II (SPEA-II) have been developed to solve the problem. Finally, we compare the performance of the proposed algorithms using standard measures. The results show the MOPSO is more efficient than both NSGA-II and SPEA-II.
