There is no doubt that the appearance of failures in construction projects has become a remarkable phenomenon. These numerous kinds and forms of failures starting from simple cracks to the partial or total collapse of the building are related to many reasons such as mistakes in execution and mistakes in design. These construction failures may lead to disputes between the project parties. This research aims to develop an expert system for investigating the causes of occurrence of failures in construction projects. ES Builder program is used to build the decision tree of expert system.

Vanadium Tellurite Glasses samples were successfully fabricated by TeO2, V2O5 and K2CO3 precursor. TeO2-V2O5 glasses were melted at 750 oC to determine the optical and structural study. The optical absorption spectra of glassy have been recorded in the wavelength range 300-900 nm by UV-Visible spectrophotometer. In addition the temperature glass transition (Tg,) of glasses has been determined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), confirming the amorphous nature of samples. The amorphous phase was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The SEM results showed that the particle size of the samples was decreased with increasing annealing temperature from 3.4 µm to 117 nm. The optical absorption spectra showed that there is not sharply defined in the glass samples, in accord with their amorphous nature. DSC data showed that Tg shifts to higher temperatures with increasing heating rate.

Water level and distribution is very essential in almost all life aspects and plays a great role in determining the population distribution and also in the economical state of Iraq. Natural and artificial lakes represent a large percentage of these water bodies in Iraq. In this research the changes in water levels are observed by calculating the areas of five different lakes in five different regions of the country, in a period of 40 years (1972 - 2012). In this study, archived remotely sensed images were used to determine surface areas around lakes and dams in Iraq for the chosen years (1972-2012). Level of the lakes corresponding to satellite determined surface areas were retrieved from remotely sensed data. These data were collected to give explanations on lake level and surface area fluctuations. Determination of lake surface area is important for water balance study and to manage risks around the lake, it is important to determine these areas at different water levels to know areas which are being flooded in addition to the total area inundated. Hydrological system of these lakes was appraised in the period 1972-2012, by using geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing which found that the total area of the lakes surface had dimmed and the volume of the water reduced. The study further disclosed that the lakes surfaces levels had lowered through those forty years.

The managers with too much over-trust relationship overestimate the corporation''s future investments returns and output. So it is expected that these managers delay the recognition of loss and tend to apply conservative accounting procedures. The present research explores the relationship between the over-reliance relationship management with the conditioned conservatism in terms of the external supervision in the corporations listed in the Tehran stock exchange for a period of 2009 -2014. The research involves a sample of 103 corporations which selected through systematic random sampling. The khan Watts model used to estimate the conservatism. The statistical methods of this study involve multivariate logistic regression using the SPSS software. The finding of the research indicates that there is a significant relationship between the over-trust relationship management and the conditioned conservatism in the corporations with a strong external supervision compared with those with a poor external supervision.

Among the various biometrics technologies, iris recognition is the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system available. Iris Recognition using the features of retinal microvascular network is the new area of research. In this paper we have provided a study of iris recognition using the retinal microvascular network. The proposed algorithm for recognition of iris consists of four stages; i.e. pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction and finally the matching process. This paper provides the detailed review of related work in the iris recognition based on retinal microvascular network.

Pre-qualification is major process in developing the construction project sector in Iraq as the owners/clients save the time, cost, quality and efforts by choosing efficiency contractors to execute their construction projects upon their requirements (owner) as well as saving the contractors from being awarded work they are incapable of doing it. This research aims to investigation the existing pre-qualification practices in the construction project in governmental ministries and provinces and setting pre-qualification criteria. This research has been conducted through practical study and literature review of the subjected related from pre-qualification process, followed by a field survey. This consisted of one questionnaire which includes tow part. General information about respondents and the Factors Influencing on the Pre-qualification Process have been obtained. Factors were divided in to Main and Sub Main Criteria, the data were analysed by relative important index method (RII) to rank those Criteria. The results showed the high importance of the adopted pre-qualification criteria of the contractors Based on (RII). The criteria include financial stability, technical expertise and contractor companies on black list, past performance, reputation of contractor and management ability of the Company. Others criteria was discussed in this research including factors which are considered to have low relatively such as claims and contractual disputes, final account, resource staff and plant, health and safety, quality control and quality assurance, and delays in the receipt of work because there are defects.
