The Attitude of Kashan University of Medical Sciences staff towards their annual performance assessment

Abstract:
Staff's assessment is partly a new topic in the administrative system which has been implemented broadly for more than 2 decades and for many purposes such as promotion, nomination, encouragement and punishment. Good assessment of the employees can be a means to establish healthy relationship and also a background for thought development and the improvement of staff efficiency at work place. This is a cross sectional study in which 714 employees were randomly selected and data was gathered through a questionnaire. Mean & standard deviation age of the selected staff were about 37. 16+7. 1 and their service record was about 12. 4+7. 7. The manner of the performance assessment was considered as rather or totally inappropriate by 256 employees (35. 8%). 47. 9% of them agreed on annual assessment as the best option. 552 (77. 3%) insisted on the assessment with the participation of employees. More than %50 of the staff had a positive attitude towards the annual performance assessment. There was no meaningful relationship between staff’s attitude and their age، sex، marital status university degree، organizational position and service record (PV<0. 05). Whereas, there was a meaningful relationship between staff’s attitude and their work unit or work shifts.
