Archetypal analysis of Masnavi's story "The King and The slave" based on Jung's view

Abstract:
Archetype is a Jung''s term for the contents of the collective unconscious; the instinctive thoughts which organize human''s experiences according to predetermined innate patterns. These ancient images appearance in various forms over time including myths and stories، As Jung describes myths and fairy tales as the reflection of archetypes. The Obvious examples of these archetypes in Persian literature can be seen in Masnavi''s tales and stories. One of these stories which expresses Rumi''s deep attention to psychological issues، is the Story of King and Slave (padeshah va kanizak) in the first volume of Masnavi. From an analytical point of view and through a psychological Criticism we will find Some of Jung''s psychological issues and his archetypes in this story. In This paper we will try to analyze the story of King and Slave from Jung''s analytical psychology point of view.
