Ontology design and construction methodology: approaches, languages and tools (case study of designing the Asfaont in LIS domain)

The aim of this research is to present the methodology for designing and constructing ontologies by reviewing approaches, tools and languages for ontology design. The results of this study were implemented in the design of an ontology named Asfaont in the domain of Indexing in LIS. By reviewing approaches, methods and languages, this paper explains the methodology of designing the Asfaont, its abilities and capabilities for representing and retrieving knowledge. The Asfaont is a reengineering of Asfa thesaurus.
