Purpose
The purpose of this study is to compare the feelings of students in the process of searching for information in the internet with the Kuhlthau information seeking model.Design/Methodology/ Approach: The research data were collected through a questionnaire. The research population, selected through random sampling, included 100 students studying for an associate degree in computer software who had entered the university since 2008. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and analytic statistics (chi-square test).
Findings
A majority of the students experience most levels of the Kuhlthau information seeking model and show great interest in learning how to use the internet. There is no significant relation between gender and performing the six levels of the Kuhlthau model. The fifth, third, and first levels of the Kuhlthau model are the levels in which students need most help from librarians when searching in the internet.
