Socio-emotional resilience in students living in deprived and privileged areas

To compare the extent to which children living in deprived and privileged areas havesocial and emotionalresilience, two samples of 160 children from deprived areas and 320 children from privileged areas of the country were given Merle's questionnaire. Analysis of variance on the collected data yielded the following students living in privileged areas, especially girls, are more resilient than their deprived counterparts. Hence, socio-economic deprivation can lead to lesser resilience especially among the boys.
