Biosystematic Study of two species of Crataegus L. in west and central parts of Iran

Abstract:
Hawthorn (Crataegus L.) belongs to Crataegeae tribe, Maloideae subfamily and Rosaceae family. It has about 150 – 1200 species in the world. In this study, revision of two species C. meyeri and C. persica was investigated in Iran, by using morphology of different organs and micromorphology of pyrenes. Results indicated that species C. persica reported from west and central of Iran, is synonym of species C. meyeri, this result was concordant with monograph of Crataegus.
