Recognizing the Criteria of the OptimumSystemChoice Based on the Client's Requests in Urban Tunnel Construction Projects in Iran- The case Study of Resalat Tunnel

Regarding the increasing rate of urban population and ascending number of new vehicles in the transportation systems in mega cities, development of access roads is inevitable. Investigating the present conditions shows the use of sub ways and tunnels are appropriate for solving these kinds of problems in metropolitan areas such as Tehran. Studying the most tunnel projects in our country reveals that, the common aspect in the most of these projects is increasing the conducting time and the total cost in comparison to the premium conditions. Considering the results of this research, the selection of an inappropriate system for conducting the construction projects can be the most significant factor and the main reason of projects’ fail. This paper investigates the criteria of using appropriate conducting system for urban tunnel construction projects in Iran by studying the effective factors, the simple additive weighting (SAW) method, and the field research based on the questionnaire results (distributed between the project managers and engineers of the result tunnel in Tehran). Considering the results extracted from this research and recognizing the most effective factors can improve the managerial aspects of conducting the tunnel construction project systems in metropolitans.
