The Study of the Style of Manichaean Paintings in the Fragment " Mik III 134"

Along with finding the Manichaean fragments from Turfan Region in China, decoding and reading these fragments were began and after passing more than a century, still this attempt has been continued. Attention to the artistic dimension of these valuable fragments has great significance because Manichaean art has had dynamic power in Iranian culture which has been developed from deep religious faith. On the other hand, Manichaean found intimate relation with other cultures and this long lasting influence has given the Manichaean arts in art history of Iran special significance.This paper was aimed at studying one of the new and unpublished Manichaean paintings. This painting was one of the Manichaean fragments belonged to the Turfan text collection in Berlin. In this research it was tried to introduce and analyze the applied painting style in this new fragment. After that, it was compared with those Manichaean paintings which were in a better condition.
