Examining the Relation between Gender and Attitudes toward Police Performance on Sense of Security (A survey on Tehrani Citizens)

The present article sought to compare the gender-based attitudes toward the effects of police role on the sense of security. In other words, it attempted to answer the following question: “Is there any significant difference between the attitudes of men and women on the role of police on the sense of security?” Gender differences are explored based on the theories of feministic sociology, especially that theory which emphasized on the social life experiences. Authors used quantitative research in order to test the related hypotheses. The population samples consisted of 980 men and women. Findings showed that there was no significant difference between their attitudes toward the effects of police role on the sense of security.
