Methods
Method was casual-comparative and statistical population was 2620 people, include all female students of veteran families in grades first to third of Shahed high schools in Tehran in year 2011 and 9561 female students from non-veteran families in ordinary schools. Through random cluster sampling were selected 100 female students with veteran father and purposefully matched 100 girls with non-veteran father. Then were administered questionnaires of study of values’ Allport, Vernon and Lindsey (1960), self-efficacy children and adolescents’ Muris (2001) and a demographic information.
Results
Results showed that preferred value system in veterans’offspring was social values and in non-veterans’offspring was economic value. Relationship between fathers’ injuries severity was a significant negative with economic values and all components of self-efficacy.
Conclusion
Low levels of self-efficacy beliefs in academic and emotional dimensions of veterans’ children may be caused by injury problems in father. Thus providing early psychological services for veteran families, especially children's health promotion can be effective in strengthening the system of values and self-efficacy beliefs in injured veteran fathers’ children.
