Impacts of different levels of wheat bran on the body tissue mobilization and productivity of lactating cows in early lactation

To evaluate the effect of different levels of wheat bran (0, 10, 20, 30% dry matter) on the BCS of lactating cows, 12 Holstein 2 calving, with average days of lactation 65 days and milk production 36 kg per day, four 21-day rotational period was used. Rations in terms of net energy lactation (1.62 MCal kg DM) and crude protein (16.73% dry matter) were similar. Test results showed that increasing levels of wheat bran in diets 1 to 4, dry matter intake, milk production, milk fat percentage were not statistically significant, and only 2 percent in milk fat was significant in comparison with other diets. Daily milk production efficiency per kg dry matter intake, for the experimental diets 1 to 4, respectively, 1.39, 1.34, 1.28, 1.27 per a significant difference was observed between the diets. In diets 1 to 4, changes in body weight were, 0.9, 0.81, 0.36, 0.05 kg on a day respectively, changes in body condition score were 0.3, 0.3, 0.135 0.019 score per period, there were significant differences between diets (p<0.05). Be concluded that to meet energy requirements in early lactation, by higher levels of wheat bran, the animal had to use body fat stores and muscles that BCS value and weight losses and may reduce fertility and milk production will decrease.
