Abstract:
Lameness is considered as a syndrome which can be caused by so many different reasons such as bone cysts. The only way to diagnose bone cysts is diagnostic imaging. The current research was done with the aim of radiographic assessment of prevalence of bone cysts in third phalanx in bovine's hind limb. In order to do it, a total of 244 hooves of hind limb were collected and radiography of lateral position and dorsoplantar position was done. The prevalence rate of the disease was 12%. The bone cysts were measured in the greatest diameter. The mean diameter was assessed 7.87±2.4 mm. Although the prevalence rate was low in this research and previous researches, bone cyst is of paramount importance because it leads to lameness.
