Evidence of Beneficial Knowledge in Holly Quran and Hadith (Tradition)

The present study aims to study the desired and beneficial knowledge from the perspective of holly Quran and Islamic traditions. The author of the article analyses the ideas and opinions of the scholars to nave a comprehensive definition of the beneficial knowledge in religious texts. The method of the research is documentary analysis. The results of the study indicate the definition of knowledge in Hadith (tradition) as the reality of knowledge that is not separable of beneficial knowledge. The essence of the knowledge guides the man toward credo and felicity. The author of the article then analyses the beneficial knowledge and non-beneficial knowledge from the viewpoint of Islamic resources (holly Quran and Hadith). At the following of the paper the evidences of distinguishing the beneficial knowledge is studied. There are five criteria to recognize the beneficial knowledge: some criteria inside the field of knowledge such as source of knowledge, method and apocryphal or final goal. Other criteria outside the field of knowledge, which are in fact some circumstances and restrictions along with knowledge. The research concludes that beneficial knowledge has at least a religious utility(the essence of knowledge and substantial and true light) due to the speeches and comments on beneficial knowledge that are mentioned by saint imams in tradition and Islamic texts and considering the different ideas on this subject and distinguishing the definition of aim and utility.
