Relationship between internal and external religious orientation with adjustment and self-esteem.

Introduction
The human need for religion has a history as old as human life. Because since the very beginning he has needed a powerful supporter and strong backrest. Religious was discussed by pioneer researchers such as James، Freud، Yong and then by thinkers like Alport. This study examines the relationship between internal and external religious orientation with adjustment and self-esteem among students in Arak. 380 students from public، Azad، and Payamenoor universities were selected through cluster sampling and participated in the study. All participants answered Alport''s Religious Orientation، Coopersmith''s Self Esteem، and Bell''s Adjustment questionnaires Data was analyzed through correlation coefficient and ANOVA. Results showed a significant relationship between internal religious orientation with adjustment and self-esteem in students (p<0/05). Conclusions
Strengthening internal religious orientation and religious beliefs ofStudents can be Helpful in increasing students'' self-esteem and coping styles.Keywords:
