A Study of the Relationship between Interpersonal conflict and workload with burnout in female nurses of educational hospitals of Ahwaz: the mediating role of work-family conflict

The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between workload, interpersonal conflict and burnout with mediating role of work family conflict in nurses of educational hospitals of Ahwaz. The sample consisted of 200 female nurses, working in educational hospitals in Ahvaz, who were selected randomly by multi-stage sampling method. Nurses were examined by Malsach burnout inventory, interpersonal conflict at work scale, workload inventory, and work family conflict questionnaire. All of these questionnaires were valid. The proposed model of the relationships between variables was tested using structural equation modeling. The data analysis was done with AMOS 18 version. The findings indicated that the proposed model was fit with data. The results confirmed the mediating role of work family conflict in relationship between workload and burnout in nurses. The results obtained from bootstrap method show the indirect effects of workload on burnout through work family conflict. The indirect effect was 0.295, that was meaningful at P workload effected burnout indirectly through work family conflict but interpersonal conflict has direct effect on burnout.
