Explaining Alignment of Organizational Elements and Managerial Career Path Model Based on Strategic Reference Points

Abstract:
Organizations are an important part of modern society and with a decisive role in the success or failure of the organization's managers, Sensitivity to the career development of managers as key positions in the competitive arena is undeniable. So the issue of managerial career path model both the sensitivity and importance of this place due to the changes in the past two decades has been the basis of this research. This paper try to present optimal alignment between organizational elements such as strategy, structure and culture with managerial career path model based on strategic reference points model. Data was collected by questionnaire and documents from 7 bank in Iran. Findings show that the managerial career path model in banking sector are linear but some of them changing their strategies are unlinear by keeping traditional model. Also, Strategy and organizational structure have greater alignment with managerial career path model than culture.
