The Study of Factors Affecting Trust in Police Forces in the City of Tabriz

Trust is one of the fundamental concepts in sociology and one of the vital components of social capital, also one the significant and essential topics in modern societies. This paper, studies the social trust of people in police forces. The aim of this research is to determine the affecting factors in the social trust of people to police forces in the city of Tabriz. The target population covers the people above the age of 15. The research method was survey cross-sectional study. The sampling method was multi-stage cluster and the sample size was 670. The findings of the research indicate that the level of generalized trust, loyalty to political system and compliance with normative rules in society, respectively have the most influence on the dependent variable. The studied independent variables totally define 67 % of dependent variable’s changes. The results represents that among affecting factors of citizens’ trust in Police forces to Tabriz, the institutional factors is effective more than the individual factors.
