Society, Culture and Civilization in the Thought and Experience of Muslim Sufism

This is going to concentrate on the relationship between Sufism and civilization in mystical thought and in Islamic history. In order to indicate this point, I will study, theoretically, civilizational aspects of mystical statements and the contingency of civilizational study of mystical issues. Also, I will follow this connection between Sufism and civilization in the history of Islam to realize that civilizational function of Sufism is not confined to the theory, rather it can work in reality as well. Based on this, Sufis had decisive role in formulation of Islamic civilization. Consequently, without considering of Sufism, it would be impossible either to understand Islamic heritage of civilization (in the past) or to establish and to revive Islamic civilization (in the Future)
