A Critical Study of the Translation Textbooks: The Case of Translating " Al-Afaal-e naqesa"

In textbooks of translation used in B. A. courses of Arabic language and literature، the prescriptive methods of teaching translation and presentation of strategies for translation of syntactic structures have been adopted. In the present study، there are methods for translation of al-afaal-e naqesa which in some of these textbooks have been investigated and compared with works of some translators. The results indicated that mostly there are discrepancies between approaches adopted by translation textbook writers and translators. Also، the results indicated that the strategies adopted in these textbooks were not applicable and the prescriptive method of teaching translation was not viable. At last، a method of teaching translation to B. A. students was presented which seems more viable and applicable.
