Networking of Communications and Political- Security Developments in the Arab Middle Eastern Nations

Message:
Abstract:

The authors have sought to examine the revolutions and politicalsecurity developments in the Arab countries from a different perspective. The dominant outlook views the Arab revolutions as the Arab Spring and Islamic Awakening, but the authors believe that these categories are unable to illuminate all aspects of these developments. Thus, drawing upon postmodernist theory, they maintain the factor that can lead to the domino like overthrow of dictators and uprisings in the similar countries is the networking of communications. That is to say that human beings engage in communicating their needed information through the virtual world, media and satellite space. Hence, communication means in the current age including TV-satellite networks, Internet, magazine etc. have facilitated interactions among human beings. As a result, uprisings in the regional Arab countries have taken place with receiving inspiration from each other and use of new communication space, which can be considered as a path to the fourth wave of democratization in the Middle East.
