Discourse analysis of Barack Obama's foreign policy towards the Muslim world

This article is going to analyse the reasons and behind the scene motives of «Discourse Change» towards the Muslim world by the scientific method of «Discourse Analysis» and answer this key question that Obama is looking for «what kind of dialogue» with the Muslim world. Therefore، the mainpurpose of this article is to analyses the foreign policy discourse of Barack Obama، President of United States of America، towards the Muslim world. With Barack Obama’s rise to power in November 2008، the U. S. strategy got conceptual change and became more pragmatic. This change adopted itself in pluralism and consensus based multilateral strategy based on smart power، namely the correct and timely use of both soft and hard elements with regard to conditions and requirements governing international relations and developments. In this atmosphere، the Obama administration wants to change and transformation of public opinion in the form of developmental domains from Islamophobia to Iranophobia. In this process by using various scenarios، highlighting، psychological operations، publicdiplomacy and the media، cyberspace and cyber warfare، threat of Islam face is reduced in general and threat creation of Iran face is increased in particular. In other words، America parallel to reduce the depth of Islamophobia، adds the dip of Iranophobia. Islam world is a part of contradictory discourses and even opposing with the American oriented discourse. Muslim world according to various Shia، Sunni، Asian، African and Arabic sub-discourse are in confilict with many of general principles and goals forming the foundation of United States of America foreign policy. An important part of the Islamic world has been the audience of Barack Obama’s discourse «change».
