Crimes against Humanity: Legal Procedures in UN International Tribunals

Crimes against humanity are some of the most prominent international crimes, addressed by courts like Rwandan and Former Yugoslavian International Tribunals. The material element in the verdicts is committing a basic crime in the form of a comprehensive or organized assault, which some courts state both of them as mandatory for legal procedures and others deem either of them sufficient. The victims of such crimes are civilians, by the definition of international tribunals. Therefore, people who have not participated in war crimes are considered victims, as well as the people who defend themselves and the soldiers who submit.
