The comparison of different methods of estimating the suspended sediment load in order to choose the most appropriate method (Case study: Hablehrood Basin

Estimation of sediment load in a wide range of issues such as reservoirs designed dams, pollution and sediment transport in rivers and lakes, canals and evaluation of environmental design projects to be handled. So far, several methods for estimating sediment load in rivers according to the experiments and experiences of other countries by the experts are presented, but evident which indicating a significant difference between the results of methods is different. The same analysis necessary values estimated by various formulas and evaluate them in the river will reveal. In this research for determination of the most suitable method for estimating the suspended sediment in hableh rood basin, data of flow discharge and sediment discharge during years of 1969-2007 were collected and analyzed. Flow discharge and sediment discharge classified according two models. In models correlation between flow discharge and sediment discharge on the basis of six methods including: linear, multi linear, mean load within discharge classes, FAO correction factor, parametric and non-parametric correction factors were determined, relative mean of error and standard deviation used to computing best method of estimating the suspended sediment, The results showed that mean load within discharge classes and in comparison with the other tested methods, has the minimum mean of square error and this method has more important role and effect than the other method of estimating the suspended sediment and among two classification models, the monthly model which has the least of errors is selected as the best model in Hableh rood basin.
