Education Postgraduate Students of Tehran and Tarbiat Modares Universities, Iran

The aim of this research was to investigate the research experience of postgraduate students of agricultural extension and education at the colleges of agriculture, universities of Tehran and Tarbiat Modares. Survey method was applied. The statistical population consisted of 33 graduate and 29 postgraduate students of agricultural extension and education students at Tehran and Tarbiat Modares Universities. A questionnaire was developed to gather data. Validity and reliability of the research instrument were confirmed based on the evaluation of a panel of experts and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (α=0.77, α=0.91, respectively). Findings indicated that students were highly satisfied of their research skills development, goals and standards, thesis evaluation and supervision. Infrastructure and intellectual atmosphere were rated as average by the students. Applying t test revealed that there was a significant difference between student's research experience based on sex, educational level and the university where they studied. The results of correlation analysis revealed that there was a positive significant relationship between age, number of papers published, number of books published, number of research projects and student's research experience.
