Assessing Organizational Social Capital: a Case Study: Tehran University

Abstract:
The present paper aims to investigate and compare organizational social capital between human sciences, and social and behavioral sciences faculties of the University of Tehran, totalling 12 faculties. Descriptive-survey method was used. The statistical population consists of all the experts of those faculties. Both census and stratified sampling were applied. A researcher-made questionnaire on organizational social capital was used for data collection. To analyze data, descriptive and inferential techniques, such as ANOVA, t-test was conducted. The findings are as follows: the faculty of world studies has the highest mean in cognitive, relational, and structural dimensions. The faculty of social sciences in cognitive dimension and the faculty of economy in structural and relational dimensions have the lowest mean. The results also indicated that the experts supposed managerial factors were the most important ones for creating and maintaining organizational social capital.
