Strategies for Preventive Tourism in Ramsar's Spas

Abstract:
Travel for treatment and recovery is one of the most important tourism objectives. Preventive tourism is a branch of health tourism, in which, traveling is done in order to use natural resources for preventing physical and mental problems.This study pertains to the identification and prioritization of the suitable strategies for Ramsar’s spa tourism development. It is an applied, descriptive-survey research using a case study. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire used was 0.8. The statistical population of the study comprised 45 experts and local elites in the ambit of Ramsar tourism, all of whom were also taken as the sample population. The internal and external factors evaluation (IFE) matrices’s results were 3.62 and 3.51 respectively. With application of SWOT, the quadruple strategies were identified and the spa tourism strategic location of Ramsar was marked the using internal and external factors matrices. Results implied that the aggressive-developmental strategy was the most proper method for the management of activities. At the end, Quantitative matrix of strategic planning (QSPM) was employed for presenting the best suggested strategies.
