The Role of Zionist Pressure Groups in Obama Middle East ‎Foreign Policy

In 2010 President Obama declared his administration's national security strategy which clarified the US policies towards internal and external issues. Due to the fact that since the end of the Cold War, the Middle East enjoys a key position in the US foreign policy, a part of the US national security strategy was dedicated to “promotion of peace, security and opportunity in the Greater Middle East”. The first issue emphasized in this part of the document is 'security of the Zionist regime' as the strategic ally of the United States. The rest of document was a repetition of the Bush administration policies against freedom-fighter and resistance groups in the region and opposition to Iran civil nuclear program. The main question of this paper is that due to Obama’s campaign concept of “change”, why he could not create substantive change in the US Middle East policy? The author proclaims there are hard evidences indicating that the foundation of the US Middle East policy is almost fixed, no matter who is in charge of handling the US foreign policy. This is more evident when the pro-Zionist pressure groups and lobbyists come into play in the US establishment.
