A comparative study of Baluchistan mosques architecture and decorations and those of India during Timurids period

Message:
Abstract:
The present paper is a result of a field work and a literary project which has been conducted generally on Baluchistan mosques. The significance of Baluchistan art is unknown yet in Iran''s Islamic Art studies. There are many artistic indices in Baluchistan mosques'' architecture and their decorative elements. Many of those which are known to public are not of such worth to be considered، they belong to the recent Islamic centuries، which have valuable indices of architecture and decorations which are the symbol of Baluchistan''s special culture. A careful study on these artistic indices in the architectural structure of religious places reveals the effect of eastern neighbors'' culture، specially Indian Sub-Continent during The Timurids. Beside، these indices have been under influence of architecture and culture of Central Plateau of Iran. This article tries to explain the historical، economical and cultural relationships between two regions (Baluchistan of Iran and Indian Sub-Continent)، and reviews how these religious places have been under influence of the elements and decorations such as dome and minaret
