Punjab position in implementing the Iranian culture and civilization in India during the Turks period

The trace of Iranian culture and civilization can be found in any places of India. However، Punjab had a great role in attracting the Iranian culture and civilized phenomenon such as language، religion، architecture and music. Punjab was the administrative and political center of India during Ghaznavi period in Iran and attracted many Iranian governors، scholars، scientists and Sufis. Consequently، Sind lost its place among Iranians and gave it to Punjab. The name of this area، Punjab (five waters) – which is a Persian word – clearly shows the depth of Iranian culture implementation in this part of the subcontinent. The origin of many significant changes in India during the Islamic period such as foundation of Urdu language، Sikhs ethic، and even art and architecture Punjab، which all are affected by Iranian culture and civilization. In addition، Punjab is the origin of popular theosophy schools of India that most of their founders were Iranian. The present paper analyzes the role of Punjab in implementing the Iranian culture and civilization in India and tries to provide an acceptable image of the Iranian culture and civilization promotion process and its dimension in Punjab region.
