A New Approach from Association Rule in Rating the Iran Police Unit's Performance

Performance study is one of the most important strategic processes in every organization through which manager and personnel find out about organization strength and weakness and by analyzing them can perform remedial actions to improve performance. Therefore Iran police also established public surveillance center (197 call system) to implement public surveillance over police performance. One of the main missions of this center is to study the performance of different units and personnel of Iran police. The database of this center is based on the type of message in format of criticism, suggestion, complain and acknowledgement. In this article using the data of this system, the focus is centered on rating Iran police different units’ performance; a new approach from association rule in this domain is introduced. Apriori algorithm is used to extract association rule and the rating is done based on obtained rule. Therefore five violations that based on frequency occupied the first rankings were studied. These violations are: not present on time, actions contrary to military dignity, not implementing management, not investigating the file and disregarding the internal circular. In fact each of these violations is rated in each unit of Iran police in different provinces. The results can be given to Iran police managers and commanders so that the problems and issues resulted from people dissatisfaction are recognized and remedial actions are introduced. The suggested approach can be used to rate and compare different units.
