Abstract:
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the publication output of the journal of Library and Information Science during the period of 2112-2102.
Methodology
Using scientometric approach, this paper studied the co-authorship network of authors by social network analysis measures. This paper investigates the topology features of co-authorship network of authors using some macro-level metrics like density, clustering coefficient, components as well as mean distance. It also focuses on the evaluation of the individual actors with the aim to capture the features of each author and centrality measures. The UCINET software was utilized for data analysis.Findings/
Results
According to the findings, the most important and prolific authors in terms of both productivity and centrality measures are Rahmatollah Fattahi, Mohammad Hossein Dayyani, and Mehri Parirokh. The co-authorship network of the papers in this journal seems to exhibit ―small-world‖ as well as ―scale-free‖ network properties. Additionally, the famous idea of ―six degree of separation‖ can be valid in this network.
