The Invulnerable of the Shahnameh and the Ilyad

Mythology is a holy, divine way to narrate the events having occurred in the initial time. On the other hand, mythology narrates how, in the light of the outstanding acts of supernatural beings, realities such as the universe, a special plant, heroic deeds, a new civilization, etc. came into being. Through time, a myth evolves into an epic. An epic is a poetic description of heroic deeds, chivalry, individual or ethnic honors and achievements so as to include different aspects of their lives. Achilles and Esfandiar are two invulnerable heroes who play important symbolic roles in the evolution of a myth into an epic. These two champions represent the two ancient civilizations of Iran and Greece. They have some heroic, epic, and ethical similarities and differences.
