Survey of job satisfaction among staff of Kurdistan University Medical Sciences (2010-2011)

Abstract:
Background and Aim
Job satisfaction is a factor that increases productivity, organizational commitment, physical and mental health guarantees, increase morale and ultimately makes people satisfied with life. This study was done to determine employees job satisfaction rate in Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences and its related factors in 1390.
Material And Methods
In this descriptive - analytical study 591 employees of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences participate by randomized Systematic sampling. Data collection was done using the staff Job satisfaction questionnaire whis is an Likret scale. Descriptive statistics, on sample T and chi square were used data analysis.
Results
Prevalence of low satisfaction (11%), moderate satisfaction (74.1%) and high satisfaction (16.9%). There was a significant relation between employee job satisfaction whit in which center they are working (p=0.01). There was a significant relation between age and employee satisfaction (p=0.003).
Conclusion
The job satisfaction of Universitys staff was in an acceptable limit.
