A Study on the causes of continuation of Iran_Iraq war after conquest of khoramshahr

Iran_Iraq war is the longest war between two countries from Second World War until now. This prolongation instills doubts into Iranian mind about it. Unfortunately, none of the researches has not tried to remove all doubt about that until now. The present article with the intention of removing of this doubt, seeks to answer the question that what are the causes of prolongation of Iran_Iraq war after conquest of Khoramshahr. In response to the above question the main hypothesis explains that according to the realism theory Iran did not accept ceasefire until it get confidence about removing all dangerous from Iraq and UN attempts to introduce aggressor. Our findings show that according to realism theory self-help is the only way to get security in anarchy environment. So, Iran couldn’t give positive answer to any poppycock where it was in informal fight to east and west superpower. Also, until territory of Iran was in occupation of Iraq army and UN had not introduced aggressor, every stop in war could respite to aggressor to get more power. Moreover,afterwards Middle East political events showed that Iraq is not reliable and acceptance ofceasefire could make conditions like Jolan heights occupation by Israel or Kuwait occupation by Iraq.
