A Comparative Study of Pharaoh's Countenance in Quran and the Old Testament

Abstract:
One of the methods the Bible use for publicizing and training is the use of story. These stories are real truths of history and are good examples and pattern for future people. The incident of Pharaoh and Pharaonics and the challenges of Moses and other prophets have، is one of the topics both the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible have spoken about that. In this research we regard Quranic and Biblical (Old Testament) verses introduce Pharaoh. A part of Moses life، his prophecy and combat is related to Pharaoh who is the devil person (Taghoot) of his tome. This prophet، as the bible say، is the savior of the children of Israel from the dander of Pharaoh. We try to investigate the introduction of Pharaoh in Quran and Bible، and see how these two books emphasis on the life and the personality of Pharaoh. And which part of his life and government are not regarded probably. Each of Quran and Bible focuses on a special part of life and manner of Pharaoh and the prophet Moses. Finally، we try to extract the similarity and the distinction of these two books in introducing the face of Pharaoh.
