The Opportunities and Challenges of Ecotourism Development in Angooran Protected Area-Iran

Among All natural areas which contain great ecotourism attractions in Iran, Angooran protected area due to consisting of rare species of flora and fauna, abundant wildlife, high indices of species diversity, unusual and spectacular geomorphological formations and beautiful landscapes has high potential for ecotourism development. The aim of this paper is to identify opportunities and challenges of ecotourism development in this area.This research is based on descriptive and analytic methods and its essential information and data has been gathered by documentary and survey methods. As a matter of fact the opportunities of ecotourism attractions in Angooran protected area have been prevented by some limits. Lack of ecotourism development plan, inappropriate introducing the existing attractions, difficulty of access and lack of accommodation and catering services are the most significant challenges inecotourism extension in Angooran protected area. At last some practical solutions have been presented at this article.
