A comparative study of commentary method in " Noor-al-Thaghalayn" and " Dor-al-Manthoor" (by referring to samples of Surah Waqia)

A study of commentary traditions in these two commentaries; “Noor-al-Thaghalayn” and “Dor-al-Manthoor” have been discussed in this paper by emphasizing on Surah Waqia.The method of this research is library, intra-textual study, and comparison one. After a brief introducing these two commentaries, the author has studied the status of Quranic sciences, inadvertently altering the sense of the text by having misread the text, distortion, subjective traditions, superstitious traditions, and choosing and dissecting traditions. This paper indicates that choosing traditions, their arrangement, references, dissection and displacement in the above-mentioned commentaries are related to their author Ijtihad (the expertise to interpret religious and legal matters independantly) in applying commentary traditions. Moreover, knowledge principles such as dependency on religious orders play an important role in choosing Hadiths.
