The Theological Principles of Medical Ethics in Prophetic Traditions

Message:
Abstract:
Tibonnabi (prophetic medicine) is a term referring to a collection of prophet's sayings regarding medical and hygienic affairs as well as physical and mental health. These sayings have been originated from the divine revelation and a perfect wisdom. The book apparently consists of medical advice, but a deep and philosophical analysis of the book and other prophetic sayings would result in inferring general and analytic principles of medical ethics. The dominance of monotheistic view, attention to the cooperation of body and spirit, the supremacy of divine fate, consideration of conventional consequences, and human dignity and divine covenant are some of these principles. The present study tries to investigate these principles known as principles of medical ethics by analyzing the prophetic traditions. The article uses the method of citation in referring to the views and descriptive analytic approach in elaborating the content.
