Detection and Evaluate the Frequency of Cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr Virus in Bladder Tumor Samples in Hamedan Province, 1392

Message:
Abstract:
Background And Aim
Some unknown reasons as the cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in the incidence of bladder cancer has been much discussed in recent years. The purpose of this study was to identify and Evaluate the frequency CMV and EBV in bladder tumors.
Materials And Methods
Fourty samlps of TCC bladder carcinoma collected from the pathology department of the dr Gharazi hospital in hamedan during summer 2012. samples deparaffinized and DNA extracted by tissue kit (Qiagen). The human beta-globin gene amplified to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the extracted DNA. To perform the PCR, primers amplified BRLF1 gene for EPV and UL123 for CMV. Therefore amplified fragments were observed on 1.5% agarose gel. Finaly the chi-square test were used to assess the relationship between viruses and their relationship to the incidence of bladder cancer.
Results
From 40 carcinoma samples studied 4 (10%) were infected with the CMV virus and 29 samples (72.5%) were infected with EBV. Four samples were simultaneously infected with both viruses. The relationship between age, tumor stage, CMV and EBV virus wasn’t observed (P <0.05)..
Conclusions
CMV and EBV can be detected by optimized PCR protocol from bladder cancer. No significant association was observed. The high prevalence of EBV develops this theory that EBV was a factor in bladder cancer.
