The Comparison between General Health and Psychological Well-Being among Women-Headed Households with and without Temporary Marriage

The objective of the research is to study the comparison between general health and psychological well-being among women-headed households with and without temporary marriage. This research is non-experimental and is a type of causal-comparative research. The studied population was all women-headed households with and without temporary marriage in Qom. 60 women were randomly selected as the sample for each two groups. The Goldberg's general health questionnaire and Ryff's psychological well-being scales were applied in order to measure the variables. The descriptive information including the criteria of mean, median, mode, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and range and also inferential statistics including tests of Levin, k-s, and independent t were employed to analyze the research questions. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the two groups in regard to the components of physical symptoms of anxiety, depression, social performance, general health, self-acceptance, positive relations with others, environmental mastery, purpose driven life, personal growth, and psychological well-being; and there is not a significant difference between the two groups in regard to the component of autonomy.
