A Comparison Between Satellite TV and Iranian National Media (IRIB) Viewers in Term of Trust in Interpersonal Relationships (A Case Study of Women in Abarkuh City)

Message:
Abstract:
The present article aims to compare the level of trust in interpersonal relationships among viewers of satellite TV and IRIB with a focus on women aged between 20 and 35 from Abarkuh city. The research is a causative-comparative study which was carried out in 1393 (Iranian calendar) on 140 women watching both satellite TV and Iranian National TV. The findings indicate that there is a significant difference between the subjects watching these two clusters of media in terms of reliability and loyalty. The two groups were equal in terms of predictability. According to the findings, it seems that satellite TV viewers have a lower interpersonal trust compared to those watching Iranian national TV. In addition, the research findings show that satellite TV could possibly have a negative effect over its audience too; however, such factors as age, gender, education, profession etc. might have a play as well.
