Checking the effects of return migration (city to village) on the physical and cultural context of the village

Migration is common as an indicator of the interaction between the rural-urban in many countries, especially in developing countries and has different outcomes for origins and destination. During the migration, if migrants communicate with their native village and maintain it, because of earning different ideas, can have important influences on cultural, social, economical and physical space of village. The aim of this research is to study the differences between two villages (Hesar and Namgh which are adjacent to each other in order to focus on the effects of migrants on the cultural and physical context of the origin village. Although villages “Hesar (from the functions of the city “TorbateHeidariyeh”) and “Namgh” (from the functions of the city “Kashmar”) in RazaviKhorasan have been located with a five km distance from each other, have quite different status of house and rural context. The village “Hesar” according to keeping communication with their hometown by migrants has lost its traditional context. While the village “Namgh”, although with a very near distance from it, also has traditional rural settlement space and social space. The result shows that the return of migrants to the village had effects on changing cultural context and the houses in the origin village. Comparing two studied villages suggests that in village “Hesar”, migrants by return to village “Hesar”, migrants by return to village, investment and building houses, had important effect on cultural-physical context of village. In order to do this job, observation and interview techniques in terms of qualitative methods to gather information and descriptive-analytical method for the determination and presentation of results was used.
