Math Standards for Preschool Children with Intellectual Disabilities and Normal Children

Abstract:
Objective
In this study, math standards like; recognizing numbers, math equations, assessment, recognizing forms and alignment, were assessed in intellectually disabled and normal children.
Method
This study is a descriptive survey. Population of study includes all 1st and 2nd grade students. Based on statistical calendar information, 8 provinces that have the best performance were selected. Sample of study consist 1176 students that were selected by matrix sampling method.
Results
Data analyses show that normal children reached 58 percents and mentally retarded children had only 16 percents of math standards.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that children show inappropriate function in math standards. More researches need to determine the likely factors.
